Workshops, Inc. is an agency in Birmingham which provides job training and employment services for people who have severe disabilities. People receiving services earn wages by performing assembly, packaging, printing, bindery and mailing services. Some earn their living while receiving training in reception, food services, building maintenance, warehousing, materials handling, fork lift operation, local delivery and other activities.
With a work force of over two hundred people, Workshops, Inc. can handle up to one million units of material per month. In 2009, the agency enjoyed about 350 business customers working and placing orders for over 300 companies in Jefferson and Shelby Counties. United Way of Central Alabama is proud to have Workshops, Inc. as one of our partner agencies since 1956.
